Sunny & Sukhi – A Sikh Wedding Story Through my Camera Lense
By Amit Panesar – Vancouver Wedding Photographer
Some weddings leave a lasting imprint long after the final shot—and Sunny & Sukhi’s Sikh wedding in Vancouver is one of those unforgettable experiences. With Sukhi travelling all the way from London, UK, and Sunny proudly representing Vancouver, their celebration beautifully blended two families, two cultures and two unique energies into one heartfelt union.
Morning Preparations – A Gentle Beginning
The day began in two different homes but with the same emotion: excitement. Sukhi brought a radiance that lit up her bridal room—soft, elegant and graceful, with her London charm evident in every detail. Sunny prepared surrounded by the warmth of his Vancouver family, his calm confidence reflecting the significance of the day ahead.
Capturing these moments allowed me to document the quiet emotions that often go unseen—the deep breaths, the shared smiles and the anticipation before the magic unfolds.
The Sikh Ceremony – Sacred, Serene & Full of Emotion
Their Anand Karaj ceremony in Vancouver was the perfect blend of spirituality and beauty. As the hymns filled the Gurdwara and the couple took their Laavan, I witnessed the pure connection between them—a bond built on respect and commitment.
The love and blessings surrounding them from families who travelled across countries made the ceremony feel even more powerful. Every expression, every tradition and every step carried meaning, and photographing these details felt like capturing history for generations.
Sunny & Sukhi’s wedding wasn’t just a Vancouver Sikh wedding—it was a cross-continental love story told through tradition, emotion and pure joy. Being trusted to photograph their journey was truly an honour. Their families’ warmth, their genuine connection and the cultural richness of their day made every moment a privilege to capture. Their story now lives in the images we created—timeless, heartfelt and filled with love.
